the-queen-chairman-and-i: Tai Ching had wanted to do a PhD in London and had already been accepted when Bunnan demanded that he return to work in his company in Hong Kong. After years of spending all his time on his social ventures, his company had been taken over by his eldest son Tai Kung who had systematically fired anyone from the family in a bid to take the company himself.
Bunnan had wanted someone on his side to work in the power struggle. Tai Ching was made to start at the bottom and was assigned as a stock checker, the lowest job available. Tai Kung also hired his sister in law as his supervisor to keep an eye on his younger brother.
